What is the action of ibugesic plus syrup ?
Ibuprofen in the syrup acts as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent which helps in reduction of pain. It is known as non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It reduces prostaglandin synthesis which causes pain and inflammation in the body.
Paracetamol acts as an antipyretic and mild analgesic agent which helps in reducing the fever of the patient. Both those medicines of syrup helps in reducing pain and fever.

How to take ibugesic plus syrup?
Syrup is to be taken after a meal. It is provided with measuring cap so that you can give proper dose to your baby. If a patient suffers from gastric upset then it is better to take syrup with milk or water. It can be taken three times a day but always on the advice of the doctor.
What is ibugesic plus syrup dosage per kg ?
The dose of the syrup is according to the weight of the baby. So it is always advisable to take syrup in the proper dose as prescribed by the doctor.
The dose of the paracetamol used for fever is 15mg/kg. So the dose of the syrup is almost weight of the baby divided by 2. So for 10 kg baby, dose of the syrup used is 5 ml. It is always recommanded to take dose of the syrup on the advise of your pediatrician doctor.

What are side effects of ibugesic plus syrup ?
Side effects of the syrup are not presented in each patient and it is very rare to see side effects but we should not ignore those side effects.
The most common side effect of the syrup is thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, so it should not be taken in patients with disease where there is decrease in the platelet count. Thrombocytopenia means platelet count below 100000 levels.
Thrombocytopenia is more common in viral illness like dengue fever. So it is better not to use this syrup in dengue fever.
If you are suffering from difficulty in breathing, skin rash, increased heart rate or any sign of hypersensitivity then you must stop taking syrup instantly. If you are allergic to aspirin, ibuprofen, diclofenac then it is better to avoid this syrup.
It is not advised to take syrup in patients with liver disease, gastric ulcer or heart disease and any kind of bleeding disorder, colitis and Crohn’s disease.
It is better to avoid much more use of this syrup as persistent use over a long time may lead to renal failure in some patients so it is always better to consume drug only when required and always take it on advice of the doctor. Where to store ibugesic syrup?

Ibugesic plus tablets can be used in adult patients for any kind of pain as well as for fever. This tablets contain 400 mg ibuprofen and 325 mg paracetamol in each tablet. It is marketed in blister packs of 15 or 20 tablets. The side effects of the tablet are the same as mentioned above.
This tablet can be taken only after meals as it may cause gastritis in most of the patient. It can be taken three times a day. Always try to consult your physician before taking such medicine.
